About Anakin (Template)

Anakin

The Anakin sub-template is part of the Fate template, the main template of Heartsbloods.

Personality

Origins

This sub-template began with a Fate circumstance alted as Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars for one girl revolution, a Star Wars rewrite by Decima and Diaeresis.

Xena is also a foundational member of the template, due to parallels between her story and Anakin's. Xena often serves as the pattern for Hero or otherwise post-Warlord Anakins.

Name Attractors

Anakins have no set name patterns. However, unlike most members of their template-group, they usually keep their birth name or some variant of it. The Warlord and Mirror clusters often, but not always, adopt different names.

Attractors

Clusters

The Anakin template has primarily temporal clusters, which she mostly moves through in order. Different stages have different character accounts.

Fate - Anakin (Template)

Anakin Skywalker (calling-my-name)

"We all do the best we can," she says, softly, not letting her blooming this is wrong and I will end it show on her face. (But it is, and she will. The future is ever in motion, after all - and so is Anakin.)

Anakin Skywalker (calling-my-name) is a glowfic character in the Anakin (Decima) template, written by Decima. She is part of the Early cluster of her template, representing prequels era Anakin Skywalker. She is a circumstance alt of canon Anakin, rather than an actual representation of him.

Anakin's personality is highly influenced by her narrative arc - which Jedi teacher she has and which love interest she has are particularly strong, there. She usually starts out fairly flippant and vicious as a child, uncaring of whether people she doesn't care about suffer, and prone to solving problems with violence first. She tends to grow in fits and starts towards a more nuanced, deeper philosophy, and usually finds herself wrestling with ideals of pacifism, universal sapient rights, freedom, and loyalty.

Anakin is the base member of the Anakin sub-template. She tends to, however, have a far stronger philosophical foundation before going into the Warlord phase (and can even outright avert it, unlike most Anakins), but she also tends to fall much farther and end up more miserable if she does hit the Warlord phase.

Cluster: Early (phase)

Setting: Star Wars (prequels era)

Other Names: Ani (rare nickname)

Facecast: Isabelle Fuhrman

Screenname Origin: the song "Vulture, Vulture" by Of Monsters and Men. All accounts in the Anakin Skywalker line have screennames from the same set of verses.

Development History

She originally was made for and introduced in the "one girl revolution" subcontinuity of Fulmination, a Star Wars rewrite by Decima and Diaeresis.

A precursor of Anakin was Ebele Agwo, an Old Republic Jedi initially created to be shipped with Darth Occlus. Both attempts to ship them failed, and it was noted that Ebele would've gotten along better with a Jedi version of Ellie. However, Ellie wouldn't be a Jedi if Sith were an option - so the idea of alting Ellie and the Decima template group into the Star Wars prequels was born. (Ironically, a post-OT version of Anakin Skywalker ended up being shipped with Occlus, bringing the template history full circle.)

Backstory

Anakin is invariably a slave throughout her childhood. She's born to Shmi Skywalker, a woman from a family that's been enslaved for as long as she knows. When Anakin is a toddler, she and her mother are sold to Gardulla the Hutt, a vicious slave trader from the planet Tatooine who delights in tormenting her slaves. One relevant torment is that children she doesn't think will grow up to any other profitable use are trapped in a large 'garden' full of other such children - and starved, dangerous predators. Gardulla finds the childrens' attempts to survive amusing, and after Anakin displays an unruly personality, Anakin herself is condemned to this garden. Anakin develops the ability to hide herself in the Force and to manipulate the minds of others at a very young age, purely out of self preservation. She escapes from the garden, rejoining her mother and staying beside Shmi as Shmi's services as a domestic slave are rented out beyond Gardulla's compound. Anakin develops a plan to kill all of Tatooine's slavers - especially Gardulla - and free as many slaves as she can. This succeeds, if nothing interrupts her, and she tends to become a Jedi after her escape from Gardulla (one way or another).

Narrative Arcs

Anakin tends to struggle fairly intensely with her place in the galaxy. She's invariably immensely fond of her Jedi Master - but many of the facets of the Jedi Order chafe at her. She feels love extremely deeply, and she can end up torn between 'love' and 'duty.' Anakin also tends to struggle with questions of freedom and complicity in slavery, as well as questions of peace versus violence.

Her world, unless disrupted, proceeds through the overarching plot of the Star Wars prequels - the invasion of Naboo around the time Anakin becomes a Jedi Padawan, the outbreak of the Clone Wars, and the fall of the Republic leading to the destruction of the Jedi Order and the rise of the Empire. Anakin loathes being a soldier, especially as a general of an army she sees as composed of slaves - an army she often must lead to their deaths. She pushes hard for freedom, often finding herself pulled deeper into helplessness and fear.

Palpatine, the Sith Lord and future Emperor, throws fuel on this fire, manipulating Anakin's great capacity for love and pushing her into ever more stressful situations until she breaks, becoming Darth Vader.

Powers and Abilities

Anakin is powerful in and talented with the Force, the magic system native to the Star Wars universe. She can hide herself from others' perception rather adeptly, and this is the first real talent she learns. She has frequent visions, especially of events yet to come, and she's skilled at discerning what actions she needs to take to reach a desired outcome. She's increasingly talented in lightsaber combat, as well as other combat applications of the Force such as telekinesis and short range precognition. She can manipulate others' minds, subtly or overtly, though she dislikes doing this.

At the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Anakin discovers she has an ability not seen in a thousand years - battle meditation, a powerful talent allowing her to link thousands of minds together, dramatically enhancing the coordination and morale of a military force. As Anakin gets better at battle meditation, she becomes skilled at applying her battle precognition to the entire field, effectively granting each person she's linked to Jedi reflexes. This comes with a drawback, however - Anakin identifies very strongly with the people she links with, and she suffers mentally when many die at once.

Anakin Skywalker (stay-awake)

Anakin Skywalker (stay-awake) is a glowfic character in the Anakin (Decima) template, written by Decima. She is also known as 'force ghost Anakin Skywalker'. She is part of the Hero cluster of the template, representing post-OT Anakin where Vader died and returned as a force ghost. She is considered a circumstance alt, rather than a representation of canon Anakin Skywalker.

She was originally made for and introduced in far, far away, a Star Wars sequels rewrite by Anya, ChaosMagic, and Decima.

Her facecasts are Isabelle Fuhrman and Jennifer Connelly (both blue shifted).

Fate - Anakin (Template)

Anakin (wide-awake)

Anakin (wide-awake) is a glowfic character in the Anakin (Decima) template, written by Decima. She is part of the Ghost cluster of her template, representing post-OT era Force Ghost Anakin Skywalker. She is a circumstance alt of canon Anakin, rather than an actual representation of him.

Anakin (wide-awake) is very specifically the version of 'Force Ghost Anakin' who features in the thread eyes of the fallen.

Cluster: Ghost (phase)

Setting: Star Wars (post-OT era), Worm

Other Names: Ani (rare nickname)

Facecast: Jennifer Connelly (blue shifted)

Screenname Origin: the song "Vulture, Vulture" by Of Monsters and Men. All accounts in the Anakin Skywalker line have screennames from the same set of verses.

Development History

See the base Anakin's section. Anakin (wide-awake) was initially written as a standard Force Ghost Anakin, but was split off in preparation for a peal of the various Fulmination Star Wars AUs.

Fate - Anathema (Template)

Anathema is a sillier, more notably autistic sub-template of the wider Fate template/ group.

Fate - Dragon (Template)

A subtemplate of the main Fate template. Dragons are very unusual for Fates. Brisingr is a founding/ central member. Dragons are nonhuman and act it, or at least have an intensely strange psyche generally unlike most humans. They struggle to take most concerns seriously, often pursuing short term hedonism. They can weave long term plots, but it can be hard to tell they're doing this, because they'll get distracted so often. Dragons usually have feline-esque body language. They like nice stuff and have a *very* strong tendency to hoard interesting things. Their behaviors and mentality often parse as immature to humans.

Fate - Glint-Sheogorath (Template)

A member of the Fate template, Glint-Sheogorath began with a Skyrim OC, Glint, and grew from there.

Fate - Hisame (Template)

A member of the Fate template, Hisame started out as Uchiha Hisame, a Sasuke circumstance alt, and grew from there.

Fate - Hisame (Template)

Uchiha Hisame (a-broken-one)

Naraka (it's a bit hard to think of herself like that, instead of as Uchiha Hisame, but it's better than being 'the second, less cool Hisame')...

Uchiha Hisame (a-broken-one) is a glowfic character in the Fate ~ Hisame template, written by Decima. She is a circumstance alt of Uchiha Sasuke (Naruto).

Hisame is fairly grouchy and reserved. She's often suspicious of new people. She's vicious when provoked and prone to lashing out, but she sets out to find or create chaos significantly less often than other members of her template. Still, she remains fundamentally curious, and she enjoys seeking out new experiences.

She's fundamentally more reserved and cautious than is normal for her template - but she's also more empathetic and more willing to help strangers.

Cluster: Hell

Setting: Naruto

Other Names: Naraka (in mixed with the lightning of slaughter), bad end Hisame (in discussions about glowfic)

Facecast: Ni Ni

Screenname Origin: the song "Backyard" by Of Monsters and Men. Her screenname is from the same verse as Tentou's.

Development History

Naraka/ Hisame was made for the mixed with the lightning of slaughter thread, to contrast with Tentou, the original Uchiha Hisame.

Backstory

Naraka was raised much like canon Uchiha Sasuke until the Uchiha Massacre, when her older brother Itachi killed everyone in their family except her. She was immensely close to her brother, and she refused to blame him for the Massacre - or for using an illusion to torture her during it. She failed to form any friendships or significant connections within Konoha, abandoning the village for Orochimaru at her first chance. She did manage to befriend Team Taka, and after killing Orochimaru she sought out her brother. She refused to fight him, which was when he placed her under mind control (with a technique named kotoamatsukami). The mind control forced her to kill him, to not speak of the secrets she learned about the Uchiha Massacre, to serve Konoha loyally, and to keep herself alive.

Narrative Arcs

She usually needs to die to have the mind control removed. After being resurrected, she needs to spend significant time recovering from trauma. This usually allows her to work through her mental issues far more so than other members of her template do, and she therefore grows in fits and starts toward having empathy for other people.

Powers and Abilities

Naraka has the ability to use chakra to an incredible degree. She is most specialized in lightning and fire elemental techniques, in sword fighting, in sealing, and in fighting off illusions. She is capable of moving and reacting at speeds humans can't easily track. She possesses a full Sharingan, which allows her to rapidly analyze the world around her, giving her a low level form of combat precognition. She has the Mangekyou Sharingan, which allows her to summon a spectral warrior to defend herself, to summon ever-burning black flames, and to put others under powerful illusions.

During mixed with the lightning of slaughter, she additionally gains access to the Rinnegan, allowing her to use all of its techniques. The most plot relevant of these is the ability to create human sized, temporary portals between universes. She also upgrades her Mangekyou to an Eternal Mangekyou, so it won't degrade with use. She has mostly been focusing on magic native to her world, but she has learned some elements of magic from other worlds the peal has access to (especially healing techniques from Skyrim).

Fate - Hisame (Template)

Uchiha Hisame (the-vicious-one)

Spoiled murder kittens. Surely a plague upon the world.

Uchiha Hisame (the-vicious-one) is a glowfic character in the Fate ~ Hisame template written by Decima. She is a circumstance alt of Uchiha Sasuke (Naruto).

Hisame is fairly outgoing and intense. She's often joyful - and also viciously sadistic. She greatly enjoys sowing chaos wherever she goes, and she gets bored exceptionally easily. She's somewhat addicted to the thrill of a good fight, and if she's left alone she'll escalate in power and challenge alike until something successfully kills her. She has no native concept of fights she shouldn't pick. Hisame also delights in breaking social norms and committing taboos, going out of her way to act 'wrongly.' She's naturally polyamorous and commitment avoidant, and it takes a lot to convince her to commit to one person (especially monogamously).

Hisame's sense of "the alt code" isn't entirely intact, unlike the default members of her template, meaning she sometimes will act against her alts. Still, she's default prone to cooperation (as long as her alts don't try to stop her from being a vicious whirlwind of chaos and death). She also is unusually willing to betray allies, including those she loves deeply, but she can be nudged out of doing so.

Cluster: Heaven

Setting: Naruto

Other Names: Tentou (in mixed with the lightning of slaughter)

Facecast: Ni Ni

Screenname Origin: the song "Backyard" by Of Monsters and Men. Her screenname is from the same verse as Naraka's.

Development History

Tentou was conceived of as an idea in February of 2019, mostly by mashing together 'Decima is excited for threads involving quasi-SIs' and 'Decima/ Chaos have a Naruto special interest.' Tentou bloomed from a brain noise into a character in response to the idea of a Decima meeting Guilty's Ira. Sasuke seemed like the funniest person to make a circumstance alt of at the time. Tentou initially appeared in If You Give an Eldritch Abomination a Sacrifice. The vast majority of her development occurred throughout mixed with the lightning of slaughter, however.

Backstory

Tentou is raised by the Uchiha clan up until her older sister, Uchiha Itachi (a Chi template), slaughters all of their family except for her. This is called the Uchiha Massacre, and it occurs when Tentou is about eight. Itachi tortures her, but Tentou remains fond of her sister - and Itachi as such cautions her not to reveal that Tentou is inclined to side with her sister. At twelve, Tentou becomes a child soldier for her ninja village, Konoha. She befriends one of her teammates, Uzumaki Naruto. At thirteen, she betrays her village to join an enemy, Orochimaru, after he offers her enough power to stand by her sister's side. At fifteen or sixteen, Tentou kills Orochimaru and goes to find her sister. Itachi asks Tentou to kill her, because Itachi's suicidally depressed and because in their magic system if an Uchiha kills someone they love, their magic eyes will get an immense upgrade. Tentou delays for a while to spend time with her sister, then kills Itachi without regret.

When Tentou is seventeen or eighteen, an organization of powerful ninja from around the continent successfully cast a powerful illusion over the world - unknowingly making way for an ancient goddess who had been sealed to force herself back into the world. This goddess, Kaguya, proceeds to declare war on everyone, and Tentou joins the armies fighting her. In Tentou's default timeline, Kaguya successfully destroys the world (intending to use the energy from its destruction to make herself more powerful, so she can recreate it 'perfectly'). Tentou steps out of reality to avoid the universe's unraveling, and she kills Kaguya the moment before her full ascension, while Kaguya is weakened. Tentou then proceeds to go world hopping.

Narrative Arcs

Tentou generally has a constant tension between her desire for freedom at all costs and her desire to have loved ones and make them happy. She also has a subtle tension between her spite - which makes her react to attempts to even suggest she should contain herself contrarily - and her true freedom - which would lead to her ignoring those who would command her. She also gets bored easily and quickly, and her only skill for solving boredom is picking ever escalating fights. This often causes her to be surrounded by an increasing amount of chaos and death until she destroys herself - or until she finds a reason to learn restraint of her own volition.

Powers and Abilities

Tentou has the ability to use chakra to an incredible degree. She is most specialized in lightning and fire elemental techniques, in sword fighting, in sealing, and in fighting off illusions. She has rudimentary healing abilities. She is capable of moving and reacting at speeds humans can't easily track. She possesses a full Sharingan, which allows her to rapidly analyze the world around her, giving her a low level form of combat precognition. She has the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, which allows her to summon a spectral warrior to defend herself, to summon ever-burning black flames, and to put others under powerful illusions, and which won't degrade with use. She also has the Rinnegan, allowing her to use all of its many techniques. The most plot relevant of these is the ability to create human sized, temporary portals between universes, but she also likes to use the ability to create mentally synced clones of herself with all of her powers (except for some Rinnegan-specific powers).

During mixed with the lightning of slaughter, she additionally gains access to some shareable magic systems from other worlds - most notably so far is better quality healing from Skyrim.

Fate - Lionheart (Template)

About Lionheart (Template)

Lionheart

Personality

Lionheart usually grows from a fairly silly, lighthearted - and often sadistic - child into someone determined to do right by her world and to make sure no one suffers what she did. She's still friendly and easy going, often joking around and falling in love easily. She's usually shyer with crushes than most examples of her template group. She comprehends violence and cruelty - but finds it extremely hard to connect with other Decima sub-templates (except for Rubies).

Origin

Lionheart's first instance was Bellona Elric, a circumstance alt of Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. The template name is taken from Bellona's screenname (lionheart), which is a reference to the Of Monsters and Men song "King and Lionheart."

Name Attractors

The template has no real name attractors, except for a general tendency to take mythology-related names.

Agon is an orc, typically in the Third Age of Arda (around the time of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings). She opposes Sauron stringently, though she has limited resources - so she mostly resorts to sabotage and assassination, unless plot hooks her up with bigger levers.

Her facecast is a series of sketches by ChaosMagic.

Her screen name is from the song "Your Bones" by Of Monsters and Men.

About Ares (Template)

Ares

Personality

Ares is almost always a god of war whose favorite pastime is causing problems on purpose. He's usually more in the model of folklore Satan than of greater gods with greater concerns - he'll happily meddle in the affairs of random farmers if he gets bored. Still, he'll also direct and aid massive armies in conquest. He likes it when places are at war, though he usually represents smaller scale tactics over grand strategy.

Origin

Ares began with the Ares from Xena: Warrior Princess, and is in his mold.
