MaggieoftheOwls' Settings
Soulweft
Every biological organism has a soul. "Soul" does not actually equal "moral value," even less so than "brain" does; in thinking beings, post-mortem consciousness is located in the soul, but in beings that never had any kind of awareness, a soul does not generate one. Souls of creatures more more complex than a bacterium are composed of filaments/threads of soulstuff. Complexity of soul scales with complexity of organism and power level of soul scales with time since organism and thus soul came into being.
Bloodroot
Original setting with biological vampires and herbalism magic.
Carillons
"Crowded" setting with species-specific person-usable magic and death-and-birth-related ambient magic.
Henshin
Magical girl setting with fallen ancient civilizations and magic AI
Bensaylum
Fantasy kitchen sink with sympathetic less-than-omnipotent anti-hell Abrahamic-oid deity. Known for Jesusbell and other templates instantiated as the Second Coming. Contains canonical homoiousianism and other technical heresies.
Aeons
Lovecraft Mythos but with the racism and classism etc. torn out and replaced with transhumanism.
I realize technically this is a "fandom" setting but with Lovecraft as far out of copyright as he is, enh.
Apostasy
Fantasy kitchen sink world where God sucked and then fucked off for mysterious reasons. Influenced strongly by Supernatural but distinct enough not to count as a fandom setting. For one thing, the angels aren't dicks.
Ankeda
High Fantasy setting with tripartite general-use magic: Witches, Wizards and Warlocks.
Lightperson
A dimension filled with scraps of magical light. Ordinary matter is comparatively rare but due to a long history of contact with more conventional dimensions it's generally filled with breathable air in populated areas.
Numina
Fantasy setting with angels and demons, each of whom have their own dimension adjacent to the human one. Angel society is kinda messed up but mostly aligned with human well-being. Demon societies are mostly postscarcity utopias except for the thing where they don't think of humans as people or have any equivalent of the ASPCA for them.
Trinity
Alt-history quasi-earth setting with magic and no masquerade, although it does have a globe-spanning conspiracy. The magic system is based on imposing one's will on the universe, and is divided into three different branches based on method: Sympathy, Effort and Conquest. Using magic hurts and has mental side effects.
