Astrid is the Bell from the Greenhouse universe.

History

Adoption

When Astrid is roughly three years old, she is abandoned on the doorstep of Lynn Adams in a basket.^1[1] Her amnesia prevents the police from locating her family, so she and Lynn choose the name Astrid for her to use and the police leave her for Lynn to foster.^[2]2[3]3

Life with Lynn

At first, Lynn attributes Astrid's strict vegan diet to a quirky upbringing.^4[4] When Astrid scrapes her knee and bleeds clear fluid rather than blood and her hair turns pink after eating strawberries, she and Lynn realize she is probably not human.^5[5] Lynn confirms this by failing to find Astrid's heartbeat with a stethoscope, but reassures Astrid that she is still her daughter, even if she isn't human, and that she will keep her secret lest doctors and scientists try to take her away to study her.^[6]6[7]7

Plague

Had Incandescence continued, Astrid would have eventually attended Johns Hopkins as a premed student, where she would befriend Darian Phillips and begin dating Beluchi Swan. They would then encounter the Plague of Utopias,Utopias, locate the other plant faeries, and resurrect Lynn's dead daughter (making Astrid a big little sister).^8[8]
