Nika is the Bell from the Superluminal universe.

History

As a baby, Nika was left on the doorstep of the Imperial Residence's servant's entrance in a basket.^1[1] She was found by Ludmilla Droushnakovi, the bodyguard of Emperor Gregor Vorbarra, and brought to Gregor and Lady Cordelia Vorkosigan.^2[1] ImpSec located the person who left her, but they were merely bribed; ImpSec then follows the bribe money, but it leads to a woman too pregnant to be Nika's mother, and with (even under fast-penta interrogation) no memory of Nika or anything related to her.^3[1] She is therefore temporarily in the care of Drou, Cordelia and Gregor.^4[1]
