Tayane is one of the worlds of Effulgence not yet connected by Milliways. Ayabel (Aya) is native from this world. Ayabel (Spring) is native from a world identical to Tayane, but since she moved to Pantheon at sixteen Spring's copy has not been named or revisited.

Society

At least in the country where the Ayabels are from (and likely others), slavery is a common practice. Killing slaves is only vaguely illegal and children of slaves are considered possessions.

Magics

"Magics" is the term for the only kind of magic native from Tayane. They are zones that cause random transformations on living things including disappearing them completely. Transformed creatures are called "embroidered" and creatures transformed into inanimate or mostly inanimate forms are called "sleeved". Magics are usually fenced and avoided.
