Mathilde is the Matilda from the Circle universe.

History

Mathilde is a mage who specializes in locating ambient mages.^1[1] She went to Lightsbridge Academy at age eight and is now fully accredited.^{[2] 2[3] 3} She has mentioned being close to Winding Circle's Earth Dedicate Honey; given her template attractors, it is likely Dedicate Honey is her mother figure.^4[4] She is the one who locates Stormy and brings her to Winding Circle for training.^5[5] As Winding Circle has no other weather mages, Mathilde has become Stormy's teacher.^6[6]
