Hex is a world created by Alicorn and Aestrix for use in Incandescence. It was the first world to encounter the Plague of Utopias.Utopias.

    Society

Hex's technological level is roughly comparable to that of medieval or Regency era Earth. The story takes place in Marlatia,Marlatia, a monarchy currently ruled by Edarial Cartalian and Iobel Swan. Two other countries, Ethayr and Lathiland, have been mentioned in passing.

    Inhabitants

Hex contains humans and, in some cases, their familiars. Its flora and fauna are otherwise Earthlike.

    Magic

Humans born in Hex are born with insubstantial spirit animals. If they choose to bond to their spirit animal, it becomes a familiar and the human becomes a spellbinder. Unbound spirit animals simply fade away as their human ages.
