Plot

[The time travel Happens.] Lan Xichen sneaks into his mother (Sun Lihua)'s prison, using his clearance as a 35 year old sect leader. He gets to be hugged and to cry in her lap a little, but more importantly gets to tell her about the time travel and the future he wants to avoid. He decides to break his mother out that night, before anyone might notice his unnatural power or golden core. Lan Xichen retrieves sleeping baby Lan Zhan and A-Zhan's favorite doll, Bunny. He steals Sun Lihua's sword from his father's room. They all leave Cloud Recesses successfully, and Lihua flies them as far away as she can before collapsing.

Lihua is struggling with how physically weak she is after her confinement and her strong aversion to strangers and crowds, but they still start trying to fix things. They go to Yunping, where Lan Xichen convinces a three year old Meng Yao and his mother, Meng Shi, that he is from the future and can help them escape.

Then they track down Cangse-Sanren and Wei Changze and baby Wei Ying. Lan Xichen recruits Wei Ying's parents to the Time-Fixing Mom Squad while A-Zhan and A-Ying and A-Yao go play with tops. Wei Ying gives Lan Zhan a top with bunnies on it and entices him into tickling him and Lan Zhan attempts to teach Wei Ying about rules.
