Wen Ning is a very good boy. Sometimes he is also a fierce corpse. Younger brother of Wen Qing.

History

Wen Ning and his older sister Wen Qing grow up in a town on Dafan Mountain, with other Dafan Wens. Their branch of the Wen Sect practices healing and medicine, and are much more peacefully inclined than their cousins the Qishan Wen. A demonic Goddess Statue in a temple up the mountain attacked the Dafan Wens when Wen Ruohan stole her fragment of Yin Iron. Wen Ning's parents were killed and Wen Ning's qi is damaged when the Statue nearly consumes it. As a result, Wen Ning's cultivation is disabled as he grows older. He has a powerful base of spiritual energy, but easily overexerts himself and collapses when he uses it. His golden core is atypical and never cohered fully. The 'gap' in his qi makes him vulnerable to possession and sensitive to the presence of resentful energy or ghosts

Wen Ying AU Instance

Due to the intervention of Wei Changze and Cangse-sanren during the Goddess Statue incident, Wen Ning is saved before the Goddess Statue can consume any of his spirit. Wen Ning is not disabled in this AU, nor is he more sensitive or susceptible to possession than any other cultivator. Wei Changze and Cangse-sanren die saving the Dafan Wens, and their surviving daughter Wei Ying is adopted as a sibling to Wen Qing and Wen Ning. Wen Ning calls Wen Qing "Qing-jie" or "Da-jie", and Wen Ying "Ying-jie" or "Er-jie."
