Chelise

Chelise is a native of Rêverie and a example of the Chelsea template. It can be assumed that she is currently in Downside.

Description

Chelise is blonde with blue eyes, slightly older than Belle and her face is described as "plainer but with a friendlier expression".^[1] She speaks Callian with a strong Albion accent.^[2] She has displayed the standard Chelsea template obsession with being loved by everyone she meets; she claims to be able to tell when people like her, or each other, and speculates the two are related.^[3][4] Her father is a merchant and her brother lives in L'arbe.^[5][6] She has mentioned having multiple younger siblings who speak better Callian than she does.^[7]

History

Chelise and her family are from Albion, but moved to Lutetia when she was twelve.^[8] Chelise was traveling with friends from Albion when the curse on the Beast chased her into his castle with a forest fire.^[9] As Belle was researching magic, Chelise tried to win Beast's affections.^[10] Unfortunately, Belle wasn't inclined to try being friends with Chelise and instead wanted to focus on researching a way to break the curse with magic, upsetting Chelise.^[11] Ultimately, Chelise tries unsuccessfully to kill Belle by pushing her down the stairs.^[12] She attempts escape by walking out of the castle but is blocked by the curse.^[13]. Eventually she commmits suicide, leaving a note saying "I didn't want much".^[14]
