Kayam is the Kanim from the Ravel universe.

History

Kayam grew up in Casasha and has been best friends with Princess Sharabel Swanpennon since they were children. She developed a crush on Shara early on, but as Shara is entirely straight, she ignored it as best she could.^[1] When Shara turned sixteen, she and Kayam began taking yearly expeditions to hunt for adventures to prove Shara worthy as heir. On their most recent expedition they find Chelasi's house in the woods and Shara spots her doing raveling in the house. When Shara enters the house to talk, Chelasi tries to ravel her and she and Kayam are forced to kill Chelasi in self-defense.^[2] They return to Casasha with Adarin and Zeviana Sorelas; upon their arrival Shara is confirmed as heir and Kayam encourages Adarin into initiating a relationship with Shara.^[3][4]

Magic

As a raveler, Kayam received her options when she was a teenager, and picked folding. She has the ability to create folds in space, allowing transit between one "fold" and the other. She usually creates double folds, though triple and quadruple folds are known to be possible. Her folds can be made in a variety of sizes and can be edited, by Kayam or a metaraveler, once created.
