Voice is an instance of the Steven Template that died and became a torturer in Downside. He is Queenie's younger brother, but they weren't aware of each other until after the peal interfered with Downside.

Description

It is not confirmed what he looks like, as he hid himself at all times.

History

Childhood

Voice was born after his older brother left and lived with their parents. As expected, he was beaten by his father and ignored by his mother, causing deep emotional and psychological problems that followed him through adulthood until his death.

Adulthood and Killings

Voice had a distant relationship with both parents after graduating college, noted that he called them once a month, something that was a matter of discussion with his girlfriend. He was distant and avoided contact even with his significant others.

Eventually one of his girlfriends became physically abusive until Voice fought back, killing her by accident. This led him to become a serial killer who was quickly discovered and killed by police.

Downside

Voice became a torturer in Downside, his phobia to touch increased to the level where he didn't want to be seen, and he used his ability to control people around him to avert their eyes from him, which was the main reason why he was a torturer. He didn't like the job, but was willing to do it for the power.

Once, Voice failed to perform his torturer duties and his powers were temporarily stripped from him. This led him to keep a prisoner "for practice". It is unknown how many prisoners he kept, or for how long he usually kept them, but "Shell" was kept for 25 years suffering varied tortures.

Eventually, Voice released Shell for unknown reasons, and at least 45 years later he captured his brother Queenie unaware of their connection. Very shortly afterwards the peal intervened with Downside, dismantling the system and removing Queenie from Voice's basement.

Angela and Daemon

Sometime later, Voice was visited by Angela, becoming distressed that she could see him and elaborating how much he hated it. Angela was trying to discover information on his template, and in exchange for his permission to pastwatch his life, offered him a daemon to help him feel less lonely. Voice accepted and the daemon turned out to be a small brown bird.
