Background

Tony was "an extremely lonely child with a talent for making things and a poor grasp of long-term consequences."[1] His parents disappeared when he was younger; it is implied this is before he was a teenager, but is only specified as "a few years ago". They were "intending to be gone for a few days, and did not return."[2] When he is twelve he uses his own DNA with a little bit of DNA from his Ditto, Mycroft, to create a clone of himself.[3] This clone becomes his brother Sherlock, and they are thereafter essentially raised by Jarvis.

Bella's Visits

Isabella Swanna drops by Tony and Sherlock's tower while in search of an Uxie. Tony tries a few matches against her- mostly to prove himself able to charm her unfriendly Rapidash- but for the most part he leaves her to battle Sherlock. She does not stay long, but returns the following month at Sherlock's invitation. She has the idea to protect Tony from his "pointy" Porygon flock by asking Renée to knit them sweaters, and comes back a month later with four sweaters, which find takers despite their garish colors and which Tony finds utterly adorable. He declines to travel either to Solaceon or Unova with Isabella and Sherlock and remains at home.[4]

Pokémon

Tony has a flock of feral Porygons in the tower, which are extremely docile per his father's programming[5]. He has named most of them some variant of 'Bob', which they will only occasionally respond to. As they are both pointy and very cuddly, he is relieved when Renée knits them some sweaters (Bob, Flob and Butterfingers are known to have three of them). In addition to his flock Tony has the following Pokémon:

  • Dummy, a Porygon2 with a jetpack
  • Ampere, an Emolga
  • Candle, a Charizard evolved from a Charmander his father imported for him[6]
  • Spike, a Skarmory

He is the one who caught the Ditto Mycroft, but Mycroft liked Sherlock better so he now belongs to Sherlock.[7]
