Background

When Tony Stark is twelve he uses his own DNA with a little bit of DNA from his Ditto, Mycroft, to create a clone of himself.[1] As Tony's parents are missing and Tony is still a child, Sherlock is raised by Jarvis.[2] His upbringing results in an Unova accent matching Jarvis'.[3] However, because of his Ditto DNA, he can imitate the voice of anyone he has heard speak, and even understand Pokémon.[4]

Bella's Visits

Isabella Swanna drops by Tony and Sherlock's tower while in search of an Uxie. She and Sherlock play a number of matches, eventually evolving Irene to a Dragonite so she can learn Dive to search for the Uxie. Bella returns home after she and Irene both fail to locate the Uxie in the lake, but returns a month later at Sherlock's invitation. They run various tests on Sherlock's ability to speak Pokémon, and run some more matches. The following month Bella visits again, she brings a job application from Charlie for Sherlock to work as a translator of Pokémon witnesses.[5]

Search for Shaymin

Charlie's first request for Sherlock to translate for a Pokémon witness results in a lead on a legendary Pokémon; the Geodude mentioned that she fought a Shaymin. Bella and Sherlock fly to Solaceon to ask her more questions, and learn the Shaymin was working with a human in Unova. After brief stops at the Solaceon ruins and at the tower to see Tony, Bella and Sherlock fly on Irene to Castelia City to continue searching.

Pokémon

Sherlock trains the following 'mon:

  • Mycroft, a Ditto
  • Watson, a Zebstrika
  • Irene, a Dragonair that recently evolved to a Dragonite
  • You, a Porygon-Z

Ditto was Sherlock's first Pokémon; he was originally caught by Tony but decided he like Sherlock better.[6] You came from Tony's flock of Porygon, and both Watson and Irene were caught by Sherlock.[7]
