Zane is the Zevi from the Inferno universe.

Appearance

Zane is played by Sam Claflin. He looks like a standard human except that when he became a demon, he gave himself wings as well. He tried out a feathered version at first, but eventually discarded it in favor of black bat wings.

History

Background

Zane and his sister Adana were raised in the lunar colony Barthalamos by their adopted father Vernon.

Adulthood

A few years after they turn eighteen, an air duct breaks and Adana- now a licensed summoner- rescues Zane and the other colonists from suffocation by summoning a demon, Campbell Swan.^[1] When Zane later discovers the two have begun dating he reacts violently, thinking Cam is extorting his sister, but Adana talks him down.^[2] Adana and Cam build a thriving financial empire together, and Zane joins their company as head of security.^[3] Not long thereafter during an expedition terraforming Mars, the summoner working with Adana and Cam panics whens she sees Cam's loose binding, and she kills Adana to prevent Cam going rogue.^[4] A grieving Zane, after summoning a fairy in honor of his sister's last wishes, plots and successfully executes the murder of the summoner who slew Adana.^[5]

Hell

Zane is arrested and convicted of murder, and dies in prison in an unsuccessful escape attempt. He awakens in Hell, newly a demon, and follows signs about Adana to Cam's home. Cam explains the secrets of daeva to him, whereupon the two settle down to wait from word from Adana in, presumably, Heaven.^[5]

Relationships

During his life Zane was in a non-monogamous multi-person relationship.^[6]

Nickname

Zane would have been nicknamed by the other Zevis. His official nickname would have been "Lucifer" because of his demonhood, but in practice it would be shortened to Lucy for the lulz.
